In the fossil-rich lands of Cariri, Evilásio and Paulinho awaken from the same uncanny dream: the vision of a petrified pterosaur’s head. The next day, they decide to set out in search of the "dream stone". During their journey, they are confronted by Caboquinha do Mato, a mysterious being who pulls them into an enchanted temporality. A new mission then takes shape, dissolving the boundaries between the earthly and the visionary.

Liderado por Beato José Lourenço, o Caldeirão da Santa Cruz do Deserto foi um movimento comunitário religioso que durou de 1926 a 1937, quando foi invadido pela polícia e bombardeado pela Força Aérea Brasileira. Hoje, a comunidade é citada como exemplo de autonomia camponesa por líderes quilombolas, agroecológicos e do MST.
Filmado em 16mm, com película vencida encontrada em um depósito de aeronáutica em Recife, com revelação caseira e pós-produção digital, o projeto busca criar uma fusão entre a decomposição química do material e a história natural da destruição.

The expressive dance and the land-art gesture on a desolate island rock draws a suggestive allusion to an iconic figure of Brazilian performance art – Luz del Fuego, a ballerina and striptease dancer performing with live snakes who was murdered on the island.

Taquaril Moonstruck is based on a series of legends that tell the story of a hunter who finds a nymph or goddess bathing in the middle of the forest. He freezes, she dances and, when they exchange glances, both metamorphose.
